Identifier Cookies
Identifier cookies are used for Edgemesh® Server analytics and tag-less tracking. No personally identifiable information is collected and is, therefore, GDPR compliant.
em_nav_id
Identifies a navigation event. Used by edge analytics and tag-less tracking to identify a specific page view.
em_device_id
Identifies a specific device, but not a specific user. This is a unique hash to follow an anonymous user's journey through your site.
em_session_id
Identifies an anonymous user's session. Used to power edge analytics and tag-less tracking.
em_cookie_ts
Indicates the first time this device was cookied by Edgemesh® Server. This is used to differentiate between new and returning users.
Control Cookies
Control cookies change the way various components of Edgemesh® Server behave.
em_exper_id
This is the experience ID for a given device. This is used by edge routing to enable a/b (split) testing.
em_cache_shard
This cookie can be used to create additional cache shards. A typical reason to shard the cache is when you have content that is dynamic for a group of users and not so much for individual users. For example, loyalty tiers that change product prices.
Be intentional when creating cache shards. The more cache shards, the lower the cache hit rate. If you accidentally created dynamic cache shards, it would result in a major performance regression.
